In the June 1968 edition of Scientific American Martin Gardner described in his 'Mathematical Games' column, a game by C. Baker that is similar to FreeCell, except that cards on the tableau are built by suit instead of by alternate colors.
  • Mahjong Solitaire is a tile matching puzzle game. You may click on any 'free' tiles (those that are on the edge) to select them, and match them with other free tiles with the same face to eliminate them from the board.

Just like klondike, the goal of Freecell Solitaire is to place all the cards on the board into the foundation spots based on suits from Ace through King. Stacks are built by alternating colors in descending order. You can move cards into any of the four free cells on the left. You may only move a stack with the number of cards equivalent to the number of free cells open at that time.
